An Islamic terrorist training facility may have been operating under the nose of the FBI for the last 10 years, but they’re still powerless to do anything about it. The FBI have identified a 22-site network of terrorist training villages throughout the U.S. and have known about them for over 12 years, but can’t act accordingly because the U.S. State Department has not declared they are a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
MOA/Jamaat ul-Fuqra is reportedly headquartered in an areal of rural New York known as “Islamberg,” but they have centers across the country including one in rural Texas. FBI documents show that MOA members have been involved in at least 10 murders, a disappearance, three fire bombings and two explosive bombings, among numerous other charges.
“The documented propensity for violence by this organization supports the belief the leadership of the MOA extols membership to pursue a policy of jihad or holy war against individuals or groups it considers enemies of Islam, which includes the U.S. Government,” wrote the FBI. “The MOA s now an autonomous organization which possesses an infrastructure capable of planning and mounting terrorist campaigns overseas and within the U.S.”
Because their branches are located in such rural areas, MOA members typically shoot firearms without interference from law enforcement. This led to one MOA member accidentally firing a fatal shot against fellow member Salminma Dawood at the Texas compound in 2002. But when police arrived at the compound, they were denied access to members and were not allowed to directly interview the women.
