A Wisconsin man has taken out a restraining order against a 5-year-old after the boy threatened to kill his 6-year-old daughter in their kindergarten class.
Brian Metzger says the boy has been bullying his daughter all year, hitting her, throwing things at her, and making threats.
Metzger said “she came home and said a student threatened her by saying ‘I want to slit your throat and watch you bleed.”
Metzger says “the whole year she’s been dealing with it. There have been other students in the classroom who have been dealing with the same individual.”
He asked the school to move the boy to a different class but the school refused and Metzger got a restraining order against the kindergartener which forced the school to move him.
“I think they should have done something a lot sooner. They’ve kept him in the same classroom as my daughter throughout this until Wednesday morning because Tuesday night I showed up with a restraining order,” Metzger said.
Asked why they didn’t move him before, school spokesperson Tanya Ruder said “there’s always two sides to every story. There’s not a set threshold of what causes or what would determine when a child is moved out of a classroom.”
Metzger is set to appear at a hearing next Tuesday where he hopes to have the boy expelled.
Metzger says “now that I’ve done all this, they finally took him out of the classroom my daughter is in, but it’s not enough. I want him removed from the school district, period.”
