The Huffington Post liberals are taking their environmental crusade to (literally) disgusting new heights. During a discussion yesterday on HuffPost Live, three bloggers were invited on to discuss their journey in no longer using toilet paper. Angela Davis, Kathleen Quiring and Makala Earley explained that anyone interested in saving the environment should reuse rags instead of toilet paper when nature calls.
Earley said she and her husband have gone toilet paper-free for over 12 months and wipes herself with a reusable rag. “[Toilet paper] is almost seen as a necessity and it doesn’t have to be,” she said. “It’s been a lot of fun to learn how to do it this way. [But] it’s kind of hard to take it with you or it’s all dirty and it’s in the washing machine.”
Davis said she only went without toilet paper for two weeks an experiment, choosing to use flannel cloths instead and put them in the washing machine every couple of days. However, she said the two weeks went by without an issue and she is considering adopting the practice again in the future. All of the women claimed that going without toilet paper is more environmentally friendly because it saves trees from being destroyed and also saved them money in the process.
