A Texas native was brutally assaulted by eight men in a knockout attack outside of a bar. Cody Robinson posted a photo to Facebook of his disfigured face after the attack, which consisted of the men punching him and then repeatedly stomping on his head while shouting, “Get that white boy!”
Robinson said that he was followed to his car and after being punched in the face, one of the men shouted “knockout!” The eight men began going through his clothes to steal items and several shouted “stomp him, stomp that white boy” when they realized he wasn’t completely unconscious. Robinson said he didn’t know any of the victims, but could confirm that all of them were black.
“It’s like they wanted more then my wallet and my phone. I think they had originally planned on knocking me out cold in the first hit, throwing me in their SUV and taking me to my house to rob it,” he said. “It’s the only logical reason I can think of that they wanted me completely knocked out, besides that they were playing that game.”
But even despite their references to race in the attack and Robinson identifying all of them as black, media outlets have declined to mention race in their reports of the incident. San Antonio police also refused to call Robinson a knockout victim because he told police that he had left the bar after witnessing a large fight going on outside.
