A Texas man has been arrested after he viciously killed his ex-girlfriend, her mom, and her aunt in their Fort Worth home.
Police arrested 22-year-old Cedric McGinnis Jr. for the murders of 21-year-old April Serrano, 48-year-old Cynthia Serrano, and 35-year-old Cathy de Leon.
April reportedly had her throat slit and was shot in the head.
Two of the women were shot in the head while the other died from multiple stab wounds to her chest and torso.
McGinnis has reportedly confessed to the murders and told police where they can find the weapons used in the attack.
The police statement states “homicide detectives received information that victim 1 had an ex-boyfriend named Cedric. Detectives located the person of interest… Detectives made contact with McGinnis and questioned him in reference to this case. McGinnis voluntarily agreed to speak with detectives. McGinnis eventually admitted his involvement in the murder of the 3 victims and advised detectives where evidence from the crime could be found.”
Sgt. Joe Loughman said “we took him back to the location. We were about to leave and we saw some things that we were interested in. We asked Mr. McGinnis if he would come back and talk with us a second time. He agreed once again to come up here voluntarily.”
Earlier in the day, McGinnis posted a Facebook message “sending love to [April] and her family”, adding that it was always the innocent ones “that get f***ed over.”
When Cynthia’s husband arrived at home, horrified, he called 911, yelling “they killed my family.”
Cynthia’s brother Anthony de Leon said “I know there’s death everywhere, but these three girls, three ladies, they didn’t deserve this.”
McGinnis has been charged with murder and is being held on $1.25 million bail.
