Donald Trump is accusing the White House of skewing unemployment numbers and downplaying just how severe the current economic crisis is. Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Trump slammed Obama by declaring that “we have so many problems with so little leadership.” He also addressed the Obama administration and accused the government of giving out “phony” unemployment statistics each month.
The 6.7 percent is probably 21 or 22 percent in real numbers. When you give up looking for a job, it’s like they consider you employed. It’s amazing,” he told those in attendance at CPAC. “I think next month we will have surpassed the late, great Jimmy Carter.”
However, Trump was far from ready to give up on America He said that Republicans can take back control of the Senate in the midterm elections and that a Republican president is possible if the GOP picks the right candidate. “The bottom line is very simple: make America strong again, make America great again,” he said. “We have such unbelievable potential; we have to use it. We need the right leaders.”
Last January, Trump slammed climate change scientists and what he referred to as “global warming bulls*it.” He has actively campaigned against global warming research and made fun of climate scientists who got stuck in Antarctic sea ice for over a week last December. “It is really too bad that the scientists studying GLOBAL WARMING in Antarctica got stuck on their icebreaker because of massive ice and cold,” he tweeted. “Temperature at record lows in many parts of the country. 50 degrees below zero with wind chill in large area. Global warming folks iced in!”
