Three men from Georgia were arrested yesterday in the heinous rape, shooting and torching of a woman. Joey Garron, 28, Robert Johnson, 23, and Ketorie Glover, 23, are all currently in custody and face a multitude of charges including aggravated assault, rape, kidnapping, aggravated sodomy and arson first degree, in addition to four other felony charges. The woman miraculously survived the attack and is receiving treatment, although is still in “extremely bad shape.”
The incident took place last New Year’s Day during a rap bottle outside of a house party. One of the men pulled out a gun and forced inside her vehicle. The two men also got in and made her drive to a vacant lot, where they raped her, shot her and then doused with her gasoline. As the three men fled the scene, they also shot her eight times.
The woman spent three weeks in a coma afterwards, but is now awake and fighting for her life. “She may never walk again. She may never have the use of her left arm,” said Sgt. Lance Deaton. “She was in a coma for three weeks. They had to remove part of her lower intestines, and she’s still receiving ’round the clock care.”
Glover’s wife, Ashley, is denying that he was involved in the incident and plans to hire a lawyer for him. They are currently separated, but share five children together. “He’s just a cool person to be around,” she said. “I’m not about to let anybody hang my husband for something he didn’t do.”
