A 16-year-old Florida student has been arrested after he stabbed a classmate over an argument about a Facebook post.
According to authorities, 16-year-old Kevin Concepcion has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a weapon, and seven counts of aggravated battery.
According to witnesses, the whole thing started over a Facebook post on a walk home from school. Twis Lizasuain of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says “He indicated to his father that the 14-year-old tried to approach him at school to confront him regarding the Facebook post. He ignored him the majority of the day, when he was walking home, that’s when the 14-year-old confronted him.”
Witnesses say the boys then started to fight and Concepcion pulled a knife and stabbed the younger student several times. Eyewitness Aida Serrano says “he was holding him by the neck, trying to choke him out and stabbing him. It happens every day at this school, there’s always fights, it’s everyday.”
Serrano says her husband broke up the fight while she called 911. She says “I was worried about him because he kept telling us that he couldn’t breathe, he started saying that he seen white, so I was on the phone with the paramedics and they were telling me what to do.”
According to the Sheriff’s office, “Concepcion said he tried to ignore the victim during school, but was confronted walking home. Based on witnesses’ statements, evidence, and extent of the victim’s injuries, Concepcion was arrested and charged with seven counts of Aggravated Battery, once count of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon and one count of Attempted Murder.”
