Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren summed up Obama’s year in a few harsh sentences, declaring his last press conference was “depressing” and that “you just want to your slit throat” while listening to it. The comments came during an appearance Susteren made on ABC’s This Week to talk about the White House’s latest Obamacare rule change.
“The president’s most powerful weapon as president is his ability to inspire — that’s his greatest strength,” said Susteren. “And then he comes out last Friday in the press conference. He was depressing, he was pathetic, he sucked the oxygen out of the room. The media beat up on him … they kept punching him. I mean, he ends the year where you just want to slit your throat almost, because it was so depressing. He’s completely lost his ability to inspire.”
When ABC political analyst Donna Brazille said that Americans “are hoping he comes back,” Susteren continued her rant on Obama. “He wasn’t even fighting on Friday!” she said. “He came out at the end of the year and you thought ‘Really? This someone who’s coming out and selling himself?”
The latest round of Obamacare bashing comes on the heels of the healthcare plan facing record-low approval numbers. A new poll shows that 62% of Americans oppose Obamacare, compared to only 35% who support it. Sixty percent now oppose Obamacare, up six points in just the last month, while 63% of Americans think that their medical bills will increase under the new healthcare plan.
