Is Ted Cruz one of the most influential world leaders? He is according to a new Rasmussen poll. The Texas Senator, who has been making headlines for trying to dismantle Obamacare, ranked third in the new poll of “most influential” world leaders, only placing behind the Pope and Barack Obama. Amongst Republican voters, Cruz came in second and only ranked behind the Pope.
The poll showed that Cruz was picked as the most influential world leader by 11 percent of the leaders, compared to 21 percent for Obama and 23 percent for the Pope. Amongst Republican voters in the Rasmussen poll, he received 19 percent of the votes compares to nine percent for Obama. Other Republicans on the list included House Speaker John Boehner and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who were each tied at 3 percent.
The poll results could explain why a new coloring book featuring Cruz has been pulling in remarkable sales. St. Louis publisher Really Big Coloring Books Inc. has released an activity and coloring book called U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz to the Future. The book sold over 20,000 copies in its first six days, half of which came in the first 24 hours.
Company founder Wayne Bell said a third round of printing has already been made and those books are also starting to sell. “At this point, I would almost call it a phenomenon,” said Bell. The coloring book states that Obama has a “consistent disregard” for constitutional rights and that the Affordable Care Act is “worse than any war.” Really Big Coloring Books described their new project as “a non-partisan, fact-driven view of how Texas Sen. Rafael Edward ‘Ted’ Cruz became a U.S. senator and details, through his quotes and public information, his ideas for what he believes will help America grow.”
