A Texas judge has ruled in favor of Kountze High School cheerleaders who had been banned from displaying banners at football games that contained Bible verses. The school said it was a violation of the law against public schools endorsing or promoting a religion. The judge, however, said the signs are constitutionally allowed.

The battle might not be over just yet though, since the school district and the cheerleaders’ attorneys disagree on whether the ruling allows administrators "editorial control" over what is written on the banners.
