The liberal media today are reporting on an incident yesterday at CPAC 2013. K. Carl Smith, founder and President of Frederick Douglas Republicans, held a break-out session on minority outreach. During the question and answer period a young man identified as Scott Terry suggested that blacks should be grateful for the clothing, shelter and food provided by their slave masters.
But the media didn’t report the full story.
Now here’s the rest of the story…
I spoke with K. Carl and his brother Karnie this morning at the Tea Party Patriot Live booth in the main hall.
K. Carl Smith said how he was so impressed with the CPAC audience who immediately came to his young man defense during thee breakout session. His brother Karnie also shared this,
“At the book signing after the session Scott Terry shared with me that he supported a type of Booker T. Washington Republican. We shared with him that Booker T was greatly influenced by Frederick Douglas. So much so that he wrote a biography about Frederick Douglas. Then Scott Terry responded by saying, ‘I didn’t know that. I could get into Frederick Douglas.’ And then he bought our book and I shook his hand and said thank you. So he left informed and inspired.”
