Obama said the net 300,000 jobs created under Bush was not good because of structural problems. He said:
- Share of productivity gains by workers has stayed flat.
- Middle class and working class Americans are being squeezed: working longer hours for less pay.
- Harder to find a job that pays a living wage.
- Standard of living going down.
Each of these problems are worse under Obama. In fact, people are having such a tough time finding work that they have given up and left the labor force.
Look at the labor force participation rate graph. It is taking a nosedive and hasn’t been getting any better.
