The polls suggest that a significant number of the black voting population will vote for Obama. That was true for past Democrats like Kerry and Clinton. The difference, however, was the fact that Obama was able to encourage blacks to vote at a higher percentage than ever before in the 2008 election.
That will not happen in the 2012 election.
Tom Joyner, a black radio host, says that the Obama campaign is taking it for granted that the blacks will come out to vote for him. He says "they are not going to vote at all".
"Instead of going to the Republican party, I am just going to sit at home.."
