Papa Johns’ CEO John Schattner says they have to raise prices due to the mandate in Obamacare that requires them to provide health insurance coverage to their employees.
The average cost of a price of pizza will increase anywhere from 11 to 14 cents.
Profit margins for restaurants are already slim enough. If restaurants cannot survive the Obamacare tax hike, they will be forced to close down. We’ll have higher prices and less restaurants. Some restaurants are going to do all they can to avoid hiring people so that the mandate does not apply. Obamacare: fewer jobs and more costly products.
Schnatter estimates that the Health Care Act, set to go into effect in 2014, will cost the company about 11 to 14 cents per pizza or 15 to 20 cents per order.
"My number one job is to make sure we have a strong and deep succession plan. I’m not going anywhere, I love what I do, but I’ve got to give this next level the responsibility to run it just as well as I can," Schnatter said. "The only way to let people get better is to let them run the business. Great companies have a great bench and that’s what we’re doing."
The Liberal crazies on Huffington Post are attacking Papa Johns for even talking about price increases…
I would rather go to Little Ceasers or Pizza Hut, or anywhere else but PaPa Johns GREED,and more GREED ,not wanting to give back to the country that allowed him to make soo much profits to be able to live the high standard of life he lives. That is why this country is failing now.Ugly Shmuk
