They’ve been flying the American flag for on overpasses for 8 years, but now the Minnesota DOT is telling them they must take the flag down. Why? Because if they allow the American flag, they might have to allow the Iraqi flag. I’m not kidding.
The flags have been flying there for eight years without any safety issues or reasonable complaints — except from the bureaucrats. That is the problem with big government. They start meddling into every aspect of our lives to justify their job and existence.
It is common for foreign countries to hoist their flags with pride all over the place. I’ve seen them on my travels abroad. Public parks. Overpasses. Buildings. On public buses. Taxis. You name it. And I find it sad that I can go days … even weeks … here in the United States without seeing the flag except for the flags I have displayed within my own home. I am more likely to see the Lakers flag than the US flag. Or even the Mexican flag than the US flag.
