For the first time in US Census history, in 2010, minority births exceeded white births. Now, we find out that 7-in-10 new births in Texas are minorities.
Found these interesting tidbits from Hispanic Business…
- According to the Census Bureau, minorities currently make up 36.6% of the population.
- The nation’s population under 5 is 49.7% minority.
A diverse society can be a good thing but only if we establish some ground rules that keep us united as Americans. For example, we ought to put into the Constitution that English is the official language of the USA.
More important than race is a socioeconomic divide that is occuring in this country. It is the poor (including poorer white) that are having more children than the rich. And they may be encouraged to do so by the massive handouts that are available to them such as: welfare, government housing, medicaid, food stamps.
If we do not address those problems now and fix the trendline, the nation is in for trouble.
