Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona’s dispatched Cold Case Posse has determined that there is probable cause to believe that their may have been fraud committed in the release of Obama’s long form birth certificate and his selective service registration card.
Notice the wording. “Probable cause exists”. “May have been committed”.
He keeps the birthers happy by suggesting fraud may have occured. And he keeps the Obama supporters happy by allowing them to say, “well he did not find anything”. For one, he does not have jurisdiction over Hawaii so he would not be able to know for sure. And two, I wonder if any absolute language could result in criminal penalties or libel if he is proven wrong.
Washington Times pointed this out in their piece:
But he is not accusing anyone of anything. Or at least not yet.
“We don’t know who the perpetrators are of these documents,” Arpaio said, although he was quick to add that he didn’t think President Obama forged them.
However, he does contend that the evidence proves a crime has been committed. “I’m not accusing anyone of anything until we find out who may have committed these alleged crimes,” Arpaio added.
