86% say economy ‘not so good’ or ‘poor’
This was a question posed by Quinnipiac source
Q: Would you describe the state of the nation’s economy these days as excellent, good, not so good, or poor?
- 43% said not so good.
- 43% said poor.
Blacks were three times more likely than whites to think the economy was good or excellent. Democrats were 8 times as likely than Republicans to think so.
This poll was conducted Feb 14-20. That is an important timeframe because it was after the BLS reported on the “good” unemployment numbers and in the middle of our run up in gas prices. Gas prices have shot up 25 cents in the past two weeks.
Handling of the Budget
Obama gets poor marks for his handling of the budget among almost every demographic group.
