"Lowering a state flag should be reserved for men and women in uniform who gave their lives in sacrifice to their country." – John Burri
John Burri of Wyoming lost his son in Iraq in 2005 when he was killed by an IED. He believes that the lowering of a state flag should be reserved for fallen soldiers. He blames Chris Christie for playing politics with the decision to do this.
Do you agree with the anger of this man for the lack of respect and honor that is provided to our fallen heros? I understand his frustration but not sure that I agree with how he chose to go about it. Burning a flag might be a bit too much.
I think Christie’s justification for flying the flag at half staff for Whitney Houston is a bit over the top. I am also upset with Mayor Bloomberg of New York. He has no problem allowing Occupy Wall Street to set up camp in the city but refuses to give a parade for the troops coming home from Iraq.
Bloomberg says that he cannot host a parade because the Pentagon will not allow him to do so. Why not??? Hence, the frustration that many feel.
