All these stories about Ron Paul publishing racist newsletters is all just a lot of fluff. Notice how the story always dribbles out slowly? Democrats love to attack Republicans as being the racist party.
There are lots of non-whites that are Republicans. Even many of the most popular Republican figureheads are non-white: Marco Rubio. Nikki Haley, Bobby Jindal, Allen West, Herman Cain, and Michael Steele. Each of whom would make fantastic presidents sans Steele.
But getting to the point.
The Liberal media is afraid of Ron Paul because he appeals to the younger demographic that Republicans generally have trouble. But Ron Paul has given our party the formula of how to reach these people. The majority of the young people that support Ron Paul are very Conservative on economic issues. They are all about cutting spending, bringing down the debt, less federal control, more state power, easing regulations, stopping all this environmentalism, fixing entitlements so that it is solvent for them.
This constant dribble of "racist" stories are just a way to stop the mass exodus of young people that would leave the Democratic party if only they were offered up the Conservative viewpoint. True Conservatives don’t talk to race. They don’t have issues that fit one demographic or another. They have one policy and it applies to all Americans equally. That is the least racist.
And I’ll end to say, I don’t care if Ron Paul is racist. Even though I believe he knew about the racist newsletters, I can forgive him. He is old and grew up in a time of segregation. It was probably normal to be racist at that time. But I have not heard one racist thing come out of his mouth in the five years he has been running for President — or ever on record. I just believe the Liberals are trying to use Ron Paul as a vehicle to label all Republicans as racist and appeal to young people at an emotional level so that they avoid him and the Conservative ideology.
I am not going to fall into the Liberal media trap by calling Ron Paul a racist or believing in it and I’d ask other Conservatives to lay off him a little bit too.
