Honey Boo Boo’s mother, Mama June Shannon, has her own reality TV show. And, it’s all about her new and improved transformation.
The reality TV star has completely changed her lifestyle. She also had a few medical procedures to help give her weight loss process and little nudge.
Now, she’s showing off ‘The New June’ in her own reality show “Mama June: From Hot to Not.” There, viewers will get to me the trimmer, slimmer, more fit Mama June.
In the show premiere, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson is getting married (not to Mama June). He wants Honey Boo Boo to be the flower girl in his upcoming nuptials.
At 37, Mama June Shannon has made a drastic change in her weight and overall health. Once a 460-pound woman, she’s now a slimmed down size four after going through a gastric sleeve procedure and skin removal operations.
She also completely changed her diet and took on a hectic exercise routine, reports Entertainment Tonight.
She underwent a gastric sleeve procedure last year after doctors determined it was a safer option than dieting.
Shannon, a mother of four, was hospitalized last March after she fainted at her Georgia home on a day where she didn’t eat much.
The reality star’s new series, which airs on WEtv, chronicles Shannon’s transformation during her journey toward a healthy life.
The network bills the series as an opportunity to “follow Mama June as she embarks on a quest of self-discovery that will redefine who she is as a woman, mother, lover and celebrity.”
Shannon rose to fame for her role as matriarch on the TLC reality series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” which centered on Alana, a child beauty pageant competitor, and her family.
Alana, 11, revealed her mother resorted to wearing costumes in advance of her latest show’s premiere in an effort to keep her new figure a surprise.
“My mama is not just a person who can stay in the house,” Alana told People. “My mama is very outgoing and stubborn. So when she’s like, ‘Lets go to the grocery store,’ we’re like, ‘You can’t, because you have to stay in hiding, you know.’ ”
TLC canceled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” in 2014 after reports surfaced claiming Shannon had rekindled a relationship with a registered sex offender who, according to a police report, spent 10 years in jail for allegedly molesting her daughter, Anna.
