President Obama let a lot of people down yet again. He and First Lady Michelle Obama cancelled a 4th of July celebration which was arranged to honor the troops because of…get this – possible bad weather. Not bad weather – possible bad weather. Could he not have taken the festivities indoors rather than cancel altogether leaving a lot of unhappy military officers and their families?
They didn’t cancel their own plans of course – they carried on regardless with a performance by rapper Kendrick Lamar and singer Janelle Monae. They just expected that everyone else would find some last minute way to celebrate the 4th of July. How insulting to the officers and the family who were scheduled to attend. And of course the troops were not invited…
Chicks on the Right reports:
Even on the 4th of July, Obama still manages to find a way to do something insulting and irritating.
According to this, the White House had a big celebration planned where they invited members of the military and their families to gather on the South Lawn for a barbecue and fireworks. But it ended up being canceled, saying that the weather might turn nasty. Might, mind you.
Okay – so the weather was a factor. I get that. They couldn’t find an indoor venue as a backup plan for the festivities with the military and their families? Wouldn’t even necessarily have to be at the White House. They would have the same issues with security for an outdoor event as they would with an indoor one.
When you plan something nice for our military – especially on Independence Day – you make it happen. And you don’t take off to hang out with some musicians. In fact, why couldn’t they have performed for the troops too?
