Either through his charity work or during national tragedy, former NFL quarterback and Heisman winner Tim Tebow has earned his reputation for selflessness.
Over the weekend – CBS Miami reports – Tebow proved exactly what kind of person he is once again when a crisis hit a fellow passenger during a flight.
This wasn’t even brought to the attention of media by Tim Tebow himself, but instead thanks to a post from Facebook user Richard Gotti, one that’s been shared over 15,000 times since Sunday.
Alongside the picture that shows Tebow with his arm around a passenger, Gotti wrote the following:
“I have to share this story! I was traveling on Delta Airlines Flight Number 1772 from Atlanta, Georgia to Phoenix, Arizona when there was a medical emergency on board. An older gentleman began having what appeared to be heart problems, and he went unconscious.
I watched strangers from all over the world and every ethnicity come to the help of this man for over an hour! Whether it was chest compressions, starting an IV, helping breathe life into this man, or praying everyone helped! I listened to shock after shock from the AED machine and still no pulse. No one gave up. I observed people praying and lifting this man up to the Lord in a way that I’ve never seen before. The crew of Delta Airlines were amazing. They acted in a fast and professional manner!
Then all of a sudden, I observed a guy walking down the aisle. That guy was Tim Tebow. He met with the family as they cried on his shoulder! I watched Tim pray with the entire section of the plane for this man. He made a stand for God in a difficult situation.”
Since then, another passenger who was seated behind Tebow echoed Gotti’s account of what happened and added that Tebow continued to help the family after the flight:
There was even a Delta flight attendant that spoke out and added that Tebow used his personal vehicle to transport the passenger’s wife to the hospital:

Tebow – who is known for his humility – has yet to comment on what he did during the flight, but the media and the American public have definitely taken notice:
It’s been noted that the crew was able to get the passenger’s heart to start beating again by the time the plane landed – where he was met by medical personnel and immediately taken to the hospital – People have reported that the man sadly passed away soon after.
During an interview just in February, Tebow spoke to People about such a dire situation like this:
“Our purpose is to bring faith, hope and love to those in their darkest hour of need. And those people are everywhere.
You just have to open your eyes to see them.”
Tebow is clearly not one to talk a noble game and behave differently. He seems genuinely concerned about his fellow man.
