FBI Director James Comey was put under fire in his defense of the decision to not charge Hillary Clinton with any criminal offence regarding her improper handling of classified material that had been sent, received, stored or deleted from her personal email server. Although he did not recommend any charges, Director Comey said that Clinton was extremely careless and wasn’t sophisticated enough to understand classified markings.
Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-SC, is a skilled prosecutor. He asked Director Comey a series of questions concerning the investigation. Although Comey tried to tip-toe around the facts, Gowdy abruptly told him he wanted short, to the point, answers.
Gowdy: Secretary Clinton said, “I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material.” Was that true?
Comey: No, there was classified material emailed.
Gowdy: Secretary Clinton said she used just one device. Was that true?
Comey: She used multiple devices during the four years of her term as Secretary of State.
