If you saw Som Lisaius and his wife Krystin Sorich Lisaius, you’d think they were the picture perfect couple. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Krystin was crowned Miss Southern Arizona, and got a job as a TV news reporter. She met her future husband, Som, who also worked as a reporter. The happy couple was married in Mexico two years ago, and now they are the parents of a four-month-old baby. But all is not well in Fairytale Land.
On May 15th, after breastfeeding, their baby suddenly became limp and unresponsive. Som and Krystin rushed the baby to the hospital. Once doctors had examined the baby, they told the couple the bad news. Their baby had ingested cocaine through Krystin’s breast milk. The baby is now in the care of child protective services after Krystin tested positive for cocaine use. Police searched the couple’s home in Arizona and found two grams of cocaine and a drug scale. Som and Krystin have been charged with one count each of child abuse to a person under 18 years of age, causing death or serious physical injury, a class 3 felony, possession of a narcotic drug, a class 4 felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a class 6 felony.
