Americans are tired of President Barack Obama issuing decrees and making unconstitutional laws. Patriots fought a war over two-hundred-years-ago so they wouldn’t have to serve a king, so why is Obama allowed to rule like one? A video from a year-and-a-half ago featuring Rep. Trey Gowdy in which he points out just who makes the laws around here has gone viral.
In the video Gowdy declared, “We make the law!” He was arguing in favor of the Enforce the Law Act that would give Congress the power to sue the President for not enforcing laws. Gowdy went on to say that the House doesn’t pass suggestions or ideas. He told the House that if we expect new American citizens to affirm their devotion to abide by the law, then we should be able to expect the same from the President. Watch his full, inspirational speech on video.
Conservative Post reports:
“We make the law!” Rep. Trey Gowdy said, in the footage capture on the House floor.
He was arguing in defense of the Enforce the Law Act, a bill that would give Congress the right to sue Obama for failing to enforce laws.
Gowdy went on to claim that House does not exist to “pass suggestions” or “pass ideas.” Its main responsibility is to “make law.”
