In an effort to reduce carbon emissions, the European Union (EU) has decided to ban some high powered household appliances. It seems that the EU takes man-made climate change very seriously. This fall the eco-design restrictions will be announced. Small appliances such as hairdryers, tea kettles, and toasters are expected to be on the list.
If you haven’t already heard, the Brits have opted to pull out of the EU. The EU held off with their plan to ban electric kettles and toasters until after the referendum in the United Kingdom, probably out of fear of sending the wrong signal to the Brits. Everybody knows how much they like their tea and toast! Some would even say that the ban is an assault on the British breakfast. What’s next, an EU ban on warm beer?
Chicks on the Right reports:
I swear, when I heard about this story I thought HAD to be The Onion. But nope. It’s the UK’s Telegraph. Hardly a spoof or a parody site. Which shows just how STUPID the EU really is.
According to this, the European Union has announced a ban on selling what they are terming “high-powered appliances” in an effort to curb carbon emissions. What are these appliances, you ask? Things like high-powered kettles and toasters and hair dryers.
Save the planet! Drink crappy tea!
