It initially started off with Ted Cruz refusing to officially endorse Donald Trump, instead telling the audience to vote with their conscience.

Then, when Newt Gingrich spoke, he tried to clarify the situation by saying that the audience “misunderstood one paragraph.”

Shortly after, Chris Christie laid into Cruz, going so far as to call out his character:

This was not sitting well with Trump fans, who pointed out that Cruz was not the only Republican candidate who has yet to keep the pledge to endorse the nominee.
Ted Cruz, John Kasich, and Jeb Bush will forever go down as the guys who did NOT honor a personal pledge… THESE men have ZERO INTEGRITY!

And finally, Donald Trump put in his two cents, leaving no question where his head is at.
Wow, Ted Cruz got booed off the stage, didn't honor the pledge! I saw his speech two hours early but let him speak anyway. No big deal!
