Last year, protesters in Baltimore pushed police out after Freddie Gray died in police custody. Now, they’re begging for them to come back.
Police used to sit on every corner, on top of the block. These days? They are nowhere.
“Before it was over-policing. Now there’s no police,” added local Donnail ‘Dreads’ Lee. “People feel as though they can do things and get away with it.
I see people walking with guns almost every single day, because they know the police aren’t pulling them up like they used to.”
These people hopefully have learned the hard way that an anti-police mentality comes with a cost. There is nothing good that comes from it.
