An unidentified suspect was arrested in Columbus, Ohio, after taking shots at police officers. The aspiring cop killer reportedly took shots at random businesses and vehicles in an effort to lure police officers to a kill zone where he would then shoot to kill. Fortunately, no one, including the suspect, was injured.
The shooter tried to flee the scene but was quickly boxed-in by armored cars and SWAT. He eventually surrendered to police after a lengthy stand-off.
It has become a too familiar story in the United States. Police are being killed at alarming rates. In the past weeks, there have been several deadly attacks on police officers; Dallas, Baton Rouge, and most recently Kansas City. Community leaders need to stand up and take action to prevent this from being the norm.
The Federalist Papers Project reports:
In the past several weeks, there have been several major attacks on police officers; Dallas, Baton Rouge, and most recently Kansas City have all experienced tragic attacks on officers.
In Columbus, Ohio, there was another attempted ambush on police officers.
The streets are becoming more and more dangerous for police officers every day. It does not appear to be getting better any time soon. But hopefully communities will stand up to this senseless murder and violence.
