Three teenage boys in south Florida thought it would be a good idea to steal a car and take it for a joyride. Their little joyride turned into a high speed police chase and the boys were arrested and charged. The charges included burglary, grand theft auto, and fleeing and eluding police. When the judge ordered the suspected diver, Maurice Thomas, to 21 days in juvenile detention, that’s when the circus began.
Thomas’s response to his sentence? He threw a hissy fit. When the other two boys saw how he was reacting, they joined him. His friends and family, who were also in the courtroom, joined in his antics as well. The judge wasn’t going to put up with their nonsense and sentenced the boys to 5 days in a real jail for contempt.
