Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party nominee, has enjoyed a lead over her opponent, Donald J. Trump, but that lead is about to come to a grinding halt. A CBS News/New York Times poll that was released last Thursday shows that Clinton and Trump were tied at 40 percent each.
Independent voters have really gotten behind Trump. 40 percent of independents said they would vote for Trump while only 28 percent support the Democrat, Clinton.
Clinton’s numbers increased in other areas though. She gained percentage points from 62 to 67 percent in voters saying they didn’t trust her. Clinton also got a 5 point increase in people who think she did something illegal in her email scandal.
Conservative Tribune reports:
The bad polling news keeps on rolling in for presumed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. This time, even the official mouthpiece of the left can’t save her from her own blunders.
In a CBS News/New York Times poll released Thursday, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were in a dead heat as they go into their respective party conventions.
Trump and Hillary each garnered 40 percent of the vote. Other candidates got 4 percent of the vote, those who won’t vote were 7 percent, and 8 percent hadn’t made up their mind yet.
