Gary Oliva, 52, was arrested by police in Boulder, Colorado. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tipped police that Oliva was downloading child pornography. He has been charged with two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a child and one count of sexual exploitation of a child. This is not the first time Oliva has been on the radar of the Boulder police.
Oliva, a registered sex offender, is a suspect in the 1996 murder of JonBenet Ramsey. Police say that he was near the Ramsey home on the night of the murder. He also attended a vigil for JonBenet on the first anniversary of her murder. When Oliva was arrested on an unrelated charge in 2000, investigators found a picture of JonBenet in his possession. He has even admitted to having an obsession with the little girl. Oliva is currently being held on $10,000 bond.
