Speaking at a news briefing Wednesday, GOP nominee Donald Trump responded to the news that Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby finally admitted defeat and dropped charges against the three cops still to be tried in the death of Freddie Gray.
“To the prosecutor in Baltimore who indicted those police officers, I think she ought to prosecute herself,” he said, according to Breitbart. “That’s my reaction.”
“I think it was disgraceful what she did,” he added, “and the way she did it and the news conference that she had where they were guilty before anybody even knew the facts.”

He continued by giving a shout out to all six officers in the case, who chose to take their cases to trial rather than accept plea deals for something they never did.
“I give a lot of respect, a lot of credit that they stuck it out,” Trump said. “You had victory after victory after victory, and she had no chance. Don’t forget she prosecuted the best case, what she thought was her best cases first. She should prosecute herself. She should be held accountable.”
Some would argue that she should be disbarred. Not only did she choose to indict all six officers without having sufficient evidence, but she even conducted an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, admitting her bias.
“As young people, we need to utilize this moment and make it into a movement, to address some of the structural, socioeconomic, and systemic issues that plague our communities all across the country, not just in Baltimore,” she opined at the time.
That statement came only a day after it was revealed that Gray’s injuries met “the legal and medical definition of an accident.”
She deservedly lost her case against the police, hopefully she will soon lose her job as well.
