Donald Trump said that if he won the presidency, he would appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the former secretary of state’s use of a private email.
The GOP nominee told Clinton that there’s never been so many lies and so much deception when talking about how Clinton deleted over 30,000 emails from her email server after receiving a subpoena from the government.
“There has never been anything like it, and we’re going to have a special prosecutor,” he said.
Trump then said that the people of this country, as well as long-time FBI staffers are furious over Clinton getting away with bleaching emails from her server.
He also said that some people’s lives have been destroyed for doing just 1/5th of what she has done, adding that it was a disgrace and that she should be ashamed of herself.
During all of this, Clinton wore a smile, but there is a chance that deep down inside, this comment shook her up quite a bit because it was a special prosecutor that dogged so much of the Bill Clinton presidency, which led to his 1998 impeachment. If you didn’t know, the impeachment case against Clinton included lying under oath when he was being questioned by investigators for special prosecutor Kenneth Starr.
Good for Trump for bringing up those emails and threatening to take down the Clintons.
