Hillary Clinton needs a great running mate, and she needs one now! What sort of criteria should her running mate have? Honesty? Integrity? Or should they be someone almost as crooked as she is?
At the top of her vice presidential shortlist sits the former mayor of San Antonio, Texas, and the current HUD Secretary, none other than, Julian Castro.
What makes Castro a good pick for Hillary?
Well, for starters, he’s in trouble for breaking a federal law. That’s great for Clinton because it’ll take some of the heat off of her. Castro also supports an open borders immigration policy. Perfect!
Castro has been accused of violating the Hatch Act.
The Hatch Act bars most Executive Branch officials from expressing their political views while on official business. According to a report, he allegedly violated the act during an April 4 interview that was mostly about HUD’s plans to increase Internet access to children and other agency-related issues
Responding to a question during a Yahoo News interview, when asked about Hillary Clinton’s bid for the presidency, Castro said, “Taking off my HUD hat for a second and speaking individually,” Castro described Clinton as the most experienced 2016 candidate. Castro also took advantage of the opportunity to criticize the Republicans.
