Hillary Clinton’s campaign loss has taken quite a toll on her.
In her first public appearance since losing the election last week, the former Secretary of State looked depressed, beaten down and just plain physically exhausted.
Speaking at a gala for the Children’s Defense Fund in Washington, Clinton held back tears as she talked about her defeat.
“Now I will admit, coming here tonight wasn’t the easiest thing for me,” Clinton said, according to The Daily Caller. “There have been a few times this past week when all I wanted to do was just to curl up with a good book or our dogs and never leave the house again.”
“I know many of you are deeply disappointed about the results of the election,” she said.
“I am, too, more than I can ever express,” Clinton continued. “I know this isn’t easy. I know that over the past week, a lot of people have asked themselves whether America was the country we thought it was.”
“But as I said last week: our campaign was never about one person or even one election,” Clinton said. “It was about the country we love and about building an America that is hopeful, inclusive, and big-hearted.”
People could not help but notice how bad she looked.
