On Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” Donald Trump Jr., GOP nominee Donald Trump’s son, reacted to Democrat vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine accusing Trump Sr. of two facedness.
Kaine accused Donald Trump of talking “out of both sides of his mouth” and said that he “choked” during his visit to Mexico.
Trump Jr. wasn’t going to just let that comment slide.
“I think it’s ridiculous,” he began. “That has no credence.”
“Anyone who knows anything about a deal or negotiation know you build a relationship first,” he pointed out. “You don’t go with the hardest line aspect of a thing on day one. We’ve been very clear. We’ve never backed away from tat. There are methodologies by which we can do it.”
Trump Jr. has a point. Trump is a businessman and any successful businessman knows to build a relationship first without immediately going offensive and being difficult.
To have a successful deal, you have to reach out to your rivals or partners and understand where they come from.
Sun Tzu famously said: “Know yourself and know your enemy, and you need not fear the result of a thousand battles.”
Hillary Clinton doesn’t know here enemy and she doesn’t know business either, as Trump Jr. pointed out.
“Hillary Clinton will regurgitate sound bites that someone much wittier than her will write for her,” he said. “That’s the way they’ve conducted their entire lives. My father has done these things, he’s created those jobs. He’s done it in the real world where real people’s lives, their families, their families’ livelihoods and well-beings depend on him.
“Trust me,” he concluded. “He knows how to set up a negotiation.”
