Liberals don’t like to be disagreed with. They like a fair and level playing field as long as it favors them and their leftist agenda. Some Democrats tried to attack Fox News for providing unpopular candidates an opportunity to debate last fall. It seems that the leading Dems at the time didn’t want any type of news coverage for the underdog candidates.
Democratic Commissioners Ellen Weintraub, Steven Walther and Ann Ravel, members of the Federal Election Commission, decided that adding second tier candidates to the debate was equivalent to an illegal campaign contribution. Fox News couldn’t understand how broadening the debate from ten to seventeen candidates could possibly be construed as a campaign contribution.
Three GOP members of the Federal Elections Commission put a stop to the liberal fantasy.
The Federalist Papers Project reports:
Robert Gehl reports that Democrats are so out of control they’re now going after Fox News for adding candidates to their debate lineup last fall.
The insane attempt was revealed by one of the three Republicans on the Federal Elections Commission. Commissioner Lee Goodman said that he and the other two GOP members of the body managed to stop the three Democrats to punish Fox News’ decision to add an “undercard” debate with the seven second-tier candidates
