Tennessee Republican Rep. Diane Black supports the Second Amendment. An attack that could have resulted in Black’s death at the hands of three young thugs inspired her to obtain a concealed carry permit for personal protection. Liberals who do not support the Second Amendment say that women should protect themselves with judo, a ball point pen, or the buddy system, but guns should not be in the equation.
Fifteen years ago, Black was assaulted by three young men. They broke her cheek bone and ruptured a disk in her back trying to get her into a car. Police told Black that if the thugs would have gotten her into the car, she wouldn’t have come back. Now, that’s an eye-opener! Black says that if she had had a gun at that time, her injuries would have been considerably reduced. She says that the Second Amendment is a necessary right.
The Political Insider reports:
It’s a real life near-tragedy that managed to shock Congresswoman Diane Black into reality, becoming an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment and concealed carry.
Unfortunately, that’s what it usually takes to get people to realize the importance of a right to bear arms – tragedy.
Black, in harrowing detail, revealed in a radio interview that she had been the victim of a vicious physical assault many years ago at the hands of three young men.
At the time, she didn’t have a gun for protection and suffered numerous injuries.
The assailants also almost managed to get her into their car, which police explained meant she probably “would’ve never come back.”
