FBI Director James Comey’s statement saying that the FBI will not recommend bringing charges against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for mishandling sensitive information revealed how hard it can be to prosecute a Washington insider.
“To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now,” Comey told reporters Tuesday.
Essentially, although Comey didn’t feel enough evidence existed to recommend a criminal indictment because it was unlikely that the Department of Justice could obtain a conviction, he pretty much said that Clinton should be stripped of her security clearance because of the incompetent way she and her staff handled classified information.
While Democrats are more than likely celebrating Comey’s decision, the rest of Americans are aware of just how dangerous Clinton would be in the White House.
No individual who has committed criminal activities like Clinton has should be allowed inside of the Oval Office, let alone president of the United States.
