Anyone who doubted Donald Trump’s ability to fundraise outside of his self-funding is now forced to shut their mouth. 48 hours after the Trump campaign sent outs its first fundraising email, they are now receiving a windfall of cash.
According to CNN, Trump has raised $11 million since Tuesday, which is something even CNN admitted was “a tremendously quick haul that comes amid concerns about his fundraising ability.”
Since his candidacy started a year ago, Trump has done very little fundraising and instead relied on self-funding and loans from himself to his campaign.
This $11 million showed just how many small fundraising donors are out there that will support Trump. That number doesn’t count the matching $2 million donation Trump put into the campaign.
“We are incredibly excited by the outpouring of support from the grassroots supporters who want to see this country experience real change,” said Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks.
“We’re going to raise a lot of money,” said Donald’s son Eric Trump said. He added that his father was running what he described as a “lean” campaign.
“We don’t need the kind of money that Hillary (Clinton) needs,” Eric Trump said.
In the past week, the liberal media reported that Hillary Clinton had a $42 million to $1.3 million lead in cash on hand over Trump’s campaign.
Now, it seems that Trump can not only raise funds matching his competition, but that he can also receive from small donors more money for his campaign than Hillary could ever imagine.
If this is what Trump can do in just 48 hours, imagine what he can accomplish throughout the summer.
