FBI investigators are now “99 percent sure” that five foreign governments were able to hack into and access Hillary Clinton’s private email server, Fox Business Network reported Wednesday.
“Investigators are now, as I said to you at the outset, 99 percent sure that as many as five foreign intelligence agencies were able to hack into the Clinton email server,” host Lou Dobbs said.
The warning was another chilling reminder of how lax security in the Clinton camp has led to its own undoing in the final days of the election cycle.
FBI Director James Comey originally said that officials didn’t know whether Clinton’s server had been hacked. It now seems they are certain that it was a huge change.
The announcement came on the same day that Fox News’ Brett Baier confirmed the same information and reported that an indictment was “likely” in the newly reopened Clinton email case.
“Here’s the deal: We talked to two separate sources with intimate knowledge of the FBI investigations,” Baier said. “One, the Clinton Foundation investigation is far more expansive than anybody has reported so far … Several offices separately have been doing their own investigations.
“Two, the immunity deal that Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson, two top aides to Hillary Clinton, got from the Justice Department in which it was believed that the laptops they had, after a narrow review for classified materials, were going to be destroyed,” he explained. “We have been told that those have not been destroyed; they are at the FBI field office here on Washington and are being exploited.”
“Finally, we learned there is a confidence from these sources that her server had been hacked,” he added. “And that it was a 99 percent accuracy that it had been hacked by at least five foreign intelligence agencies, and that things had been taken from that.”
“I pressed again and again on this very issue,” Baier concluded. “The investigations will continue, there is a lot of evidence. And barring some obstruction in some way, they believe they will continue to likely an indictment.”
With less than a week before Election day, we have confirmation on what has been reported all along: that Hillary Clinton’s email server was so insecure that practically any foreign intelligence service could have made their way into it.
