Country music legend, Dolly Parton, is on the road promoting her new album entitled, “Pure and Simple.” In an interview with the New York Times, Parton showed her simple side by endorsing Hillary Clinton for president. Why Clinton? Well, Parton didn’t mention anything about Clinton’s stand on immigration, abortion, gun control, or the economy, instead she said that a woman as president “would do a great job.”
Dolly Parton went on to talk about her gay audience and how much she enjoys seeing men dressed up as her. She says that when she sees the boys dressed up like her in the audience and she’s performing the song “Jolene” she embellishes the lyrics to “Drag queen, drag queen, drag queen! Please don’t take my man.” She says she’s very proud of her gay following.
Conservative Post reports:
Dolly Parton’s patriotic country music fans were furious this week when the country music legend endorsed Hillary Clinton in the election, saying that a female president would be “wonderful.”
“Hillary might make as good a president as anybody ever has,” Parton told the New York Times.
Parton is currently on her Pure & Simple Tour for her album of the same name. She recently talked about how flattered she is to have a large gay audience along with her country fans.
