Detroit police are investigating one of their own. An investigation was launched after a Detroit detective posted a rant on Facebook about the Black Lives Matter movement. The message was posted July 8th by Detective Nathan Weekley.
Weekley wrote about how troubled he was by the shootings in Dallas. He said that he didn’t feel like coming in to work and suggested that other law enforcement officers opt to stay home as well. Detroit Police Department made an announcement that Weekley’s opinion does not reflect that of the Department as a whole.
