As pro-Bernie protests continue to interrupt the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, liberals gushed over First Lady Michelle Obama’s endless praise for Hillary Clinton.
Michelle announced that she believes Hillary is a role model, amazing leader, and great mother.
But she didn’t always thin that. Video has resurfaced which reminds us just how heated the 2008 campaign was.
It’s clear Michelle Obama can’t stand Hillary at all! As she said below in 2007, “If [Hillary] Can’t Run Your Own House, You Can’t Run The White House!”
First lady Michelle Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention Monday night is the first of several campaign stops she’s expected to make for Hillary Clinton as the two women – distant throughout much of the Obama presidency – find common cause in their campaign to defeat Republican Donald Trump in November.
“So, our view is that if you can’t run your own house, you certainly can’t run the White House”, Michelle Obama said from the campaign trail in the early state of Iowa in August of 2007. During the bruising 2008 Democratic primary fight, Michelle Obama often took veiled swipes at her husband’s opponent.
Now as Clinton will attend the convention as the presumptive Democratic nominee, and Trump has been officially named her opposition, Michelle’s tone might be even more pointed. Hillary Clinton’s bid for the White House proved to be more of a trial than most predicted, with Sen. “I’m glad that she was selected to speak on the first night, the opening night of a historic convention”, said Donna Brazile, the longtime Democratic strategist (via the Washington Post).
“Running for political office is not Michelle Obama’s thing”, biographer Slevin said. At the White House event, Obama said she was “just getting started” in her advocacy for girls’ education around the world.
