DNC chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz will resign as chair after the convention as a result of 20,000 Democratic National Committee email leaks. The Observer noted that back in June, Schultz was sued over alleged manipulation of the Democratic primary, but these new leaks make this lawsuit even more damaging.
The lawsuit was filed on June 28, before the leak of these documents. Even before the leak, allegations were swirling (based on a separate group of leaked documents), that the DNC had gone out of its way to rig the primary in Clinton’s favor.
This latest batch of documents will provide more proof to those suing Schultz, and by extension the DNC, and could complicate Schultz’s life greatly.
“This lawsuit is our effort as attorneys to give a voice, in the political system, to all those who have been defrauded by the conduct of the DNC in supporting and promoting Hillary Clinton’s candidacy in violation of its own charter which requires it to be neutral,” Jeff Beck told the Observer.
There are thousands of people in the class-action lawsuit, and that number is likely to grow. Anyone who contributed to Sanders’ campaign can get in on the action.
The Democratic party has been exposed as nothing, but a bunch of corrupt, power-hungry people who will do and say whatever they can to stay in power.
The Democrat convention this week was supposed to be Clinton’s defining moment, but it has turned into another scandal that is only going to worsen the public image.
