Now, a new poll has shown that for the first time, Donald Trump holds a national lead over Hillary Clinton.
The Red Oak strategic poll shows Trump leading 35% to 33%
Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson ranks third, at 8 percent, while 24 percent back another candidate or remain undecided.
Red Oak Strategic conducted its sampling online among 915 likely voters Sept. 15–16. It has a 3.5 percentage point margin of error. Online polling, however, has long faced skepticism because most rely on self-selecting groups of respondents.
Monday’s results are the first time Red Oak Strategic has found Trump leading Clinton nationally since it began tracking their race in August.
Trump trailed Clinton in the company’s last survey, in early September, 32 percent to her 34 percent.
Approximately 50 days before the election, multiple polls show a tightening race between Clinton and Trump at both the national and state levels.
For months, Democrats have treated the presidential election as if it was already over. But Hillary Clinton now has to answer for her ongoing health problems, which – on top of her criminal behavior – show that she is unfit to be America’s commander-in-chief.
