When Christy Sheats, 42, called a family meeting in the living room of her home, nobody could have predicted what would happen next. With her husband, Jason, and two daughters, Taylor, 22, and Madison, 17, seated across from her, she pulled a .38 caliber pistol from its hiding place in the couch and started shooting. Her motive? To make her husband suffer by taking his daughters away from him – permanently.
And suffer he did. She spared his life but took the lives of their two innocent daughters. Police arrived on the scene when she was finishing off her daughter, Taylor, who lay wounded on the ground outside their home. Police shot and killed Sheats. According to Dr. Drew, police had previously attended Sheats’ house responding to attempted suicide calls.
Last Friday, 42-year-old Christy Sheats called a family meeting regarding her daughter, 22-year-old Taylor, who was set to be married Monday.
According to Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls, the mother pointed a gun at her husband but then shot Taylor and her 17-year-old sister, Madison.
The father and girls tried to flee but she continued to fire. Harrowing 911 calls from the incident show the girls pleading for their lives.
